Oh me, oh my, it’s already July!
With school out for the year and the sun shining down on us, it’s hard not to feel free and easy–especially here at the North Country Food Co-Op! We’ve had a busy June, and now we’re ready to enjoy the dog days of summer with our community.
Operations
You may remember that one of our freezers recently died–well, we got a new one! This True brand addition to our store is full of fish, local meat, and (most importantly for the summer months) ice cream! National Ice Cream Day is July 20, and what better excuse to check out our fun frozen fare? Hot tip: the ice cream mochi is super duper yummy.
While the freezer drama is over, the kombucha drama continues. We have replaced the old kegerator and are in the process of getting the new one installed; we’re offering case discounts on kegs in the meantime. Keep in mind: this new kegerator is a four-tap rather than a six-tap, so we’re all ears regarding what flavors you most want to see featured.
On Saturday, June 29 the Board of Directors met to update the Co-Op’s mission statement. The Board is currently in the process of refining it, and they want your input! Keep an eye out for an email and/or check the website for an opportunity to weigh in.
Products
Uglies chips are on sale! They taste much better than they look, and that’s the beauty of them. Field Roast plant-based mini corn dogs are also on sale–perfect for this time of year!
The coffee of the month is American Redstart from Birds & Beans, at $15.99/lb. Try our newest light roast for a smooth cold brew!
The cheese of the month is Artikaas Smoked Gouda, 17.49/LB. This smoked gouda is a perfect addition to your summer burgers, or for a quesadilla!
Events
We will be open on July 4th. The parade will be going right down our street, so stop in to stock up on supplies (like water, sunscreen, and snacks) or just to get out of the heat!
