March is here already!
We may all be crunching around on snow still, but underneath that icy crust there are things growing. Before we know it we’ll be inundated with budding trees and blooming flowers!
Here at the Co-Op, we’re eager to get into the spring of things.
Operations
A freezer update: the freezers are working! Thanks to the folks over at J Hogan, we’ve resolved the issues one of our freezers has had for a long while now. We’re very grateful to them for all of their help! You can expect to see the affected freezer restocked with an expanded range of products next time you come to the Co-Op.
We recently revived an old Co-Op tradition: Sample Saturday! Drop into the Co-Op on Saturdays 10-1 to sample select products, like granola or cheese.
Sales Highlights
We’ve got a bunch of essential oils from Aura Cacia on sale this month: bergamot, frankincense, lavender, peppermint, rosemary, and tea tree (in various sizes).
Coffee of the Month is Scarlet Tanager. This dark roast is known for its smooth, creamy taste and a savory-sweet chocolate flavor. $16.99/lb.
Cheese of the Month is Camembrie from Blue Ledge Farm. $9.59 each, the Camembrie blends the camembert and brie preparation styles to create a buttery, creamy, and mild yet earthy cheese. Great on a cheese board.
Seeds are in! Hudson Valley Seeds are available for purchase, and seeds from Seed Savers Exchange are on the way. Seeds are $3.99 a packet.
Events
The next meeting of the Board of Directors is Thursday March 19th, at 5:30 in the Community Room. Interested in joining the BoD? Check out our website, and/or email boardncfc@gmail.com for more information.
We had to reschedule Book Club due to snow (ain’t that the way?), which will now be held on 3/20 at 5:00 in the Community Room. Come join us! We’re starting with a really fascinating read–The Secret Life of Groceries by Benjamin Lorr.
