It’s fall, y’all!
The leaves are changing color, the geese are headed south for the winter, and we’re up to our eyes in squash! Let’s see what’s up at the Co-Op.
Operations
The freezer saga continues! You may have noticed that one of our freezers is down. Again. We appreciate your patience as we work to address a failing compressor–if you don’t see your favorite frozen products on the shelves they may be hiding in storage, so please ask about them!
You may also have seen that many products have shifted spots. We’ve moved things around–tea, pasta, sauces to name a few–to improve the flow and make products easier to find! We understand that this can be confusing, but we’re here to help you locate whatever you’re looking for.
Our Empire State Service Corps intern has been working hard to produce informational one-pagers, which can be found both on our website and in the magazine rack here in the store. From exploring the history of the North Country Food Co-Op to explaining how a Co-Op runs, our intern has developed some interesting stuff for you to check out!
Products
Squash season is upon us! Carnival, honeynut, acorn, delicata, and pumpkins have all been gracing our shelves. Many are locally and/or organically grown, and all are delicious. Bragg’s Raw Unfiltered OG Apple Cider Vinegar is on sale at $6.49/16oz.
In bulk, yellow popcorn is on sale for $1.79/lb, and tri-color quinoa is on sale for $4.99/lb.
Whether you’re participating in Sober October or looking for N/A bevs just because, we’ve got you covered! We carry a variety of non-alcoholic beers, wines, and mocktails, including Athletic Brewing and Wolffer Estates products.
Coffee of the Month is Mind, Body, and Soul. Famous for its nutty, chocolatey flavor, this is our favorite here at the co-op.
Cheese of the Month is Vermont Creamery’s Goat Cheese Herbed Chevre. Light but flavorful, this cheese is great on toast with a soup or on a cheese board!
Events
Catch us at North Country Pride in Trinity Park on Saturday, October 4.
National Co-Op Month has been celebrated in October since 1964! This is a time for us to acknowledge not only the community-minded values and practices of our co-op, but the power of the wider cooperative movement. When you stop in next, we encourage you to ask your burning co-op questions! We’re excited to share what makes a co-op a co-op, to tell you about the co-ops we work with, and to celebrate our community.
“I’m so glad we live in a world where there are Octobers.” -Lucy Maud Montgomery
